Read on for the line-up of what's happening in town this summer holidays, including the return of the ever-so-popular Thumbs Up It's Thursday, a seasonal BBQ boat for hire, and other exciting stuff!

The Ancient Market Place

Being one of the most popular spots in Kingston. the Ancient Market Place has transformed for the summer with brand new deck chairs, astro turf, interactive installation and floral planting. The much-loved water fountains will be back on during the weekdays in summer, great for letting little ones cool off!

It wouldn't be summer without festivals! Right in the heart of town, you can enjoy live performances from FUSE International Festival (1-10 July), a yearly youth festival featuring young and talented artists from around the world.

Are you a big fan of tennis? We are too, which is why we're bringing a GIANT screen to the Ancient Market Place during the Wimbledon Finals (9 &10 July) for all to enjoy!

Memorial Gardens

From 11 - 24 July, Roundabout Theatre will occupy a big yellow tent, featuring three brand-new plays. There will also be comedy nights and community events to get involved in and support the work of incredible artists.

After Roundabout packs up and leaves town, Memorial Gardens will become a relaxed hub for families throughout the summer, where you can expect to see a host of family-friendly activities. We're bringing back a pop-up sandpit, complete with buckets and spades.

Get active and challenge the kids to a game of giant chess, Connect 4, or Jenga. Or if you're tired from shopping earlier, then simply sit back and relax on the deckchairs and watch the kids build sandcastles!

We will be announcing the full programme very soon, so follow our social media @inkingstonuk to get the latest updates.

There's no better place to be on a sunny summer's day than lounging about on the river Thames. So pop on your shades, grab your sunscreen and bring some food and drink ready to hop on board the GoBoat! This self-drive eco-friendly electric boat holds up to 7 people, so bring your family and friends with you on a warm summer evening and sail away into the sunset.

Perhaps you're looking to celebrate your birthday on the river? Then the Turks BBQ boats will be the perfect option for you! This boat seat up to 10 people and include an onboard full-range BBQ for your culinary pleasure, perfect for parties and celebrations.

If staying on dry land is more your thing, you can watch the river antics from the safety of one of the many cafes and restaurants that line the riverside. On a bright and sunny day, invite your friends and family to some delicious burgers and cocktails at Haché Riverside Social, or try some truly scrumptious Indian food at Chakra. You could also enjoy a cold drink and the stunning views from the terrace at The Bishop, grab a few cold ones at a cool independent bar Woodys, or have your mind blown by Incognito's magical cocktails.

After your meal, why not take a stroll along the river and head to Eagle Brewery Wharf. What was once a site of a brewery is now a riverside open space, a perfect place to soak up the summer sunshine and read your favourite book.
