Malden & District Motor Club

Catch a new display at the Kingston History Centre (at the rear of the Guildhall) depicting the Malden & District Club’s history and activities throughout the many years of its operation. The display, which continues until April 2025, includes the Club’s many trophies with information panels with details of the Club’s events and personalities.

Malden & District Motor Club was formed in 1927 with members drawn from throughout the area. Although the Club started as a motorcycle club, it soon included car owners amongst its members, and by the 1950s was exclusively car orientated. Events included rallies, with everything from treasure hunts to full internationals at home and abroad, driving tests, car trials, sprints, as well as more light-hearted activities such as gymkhanas, talks, film nights and natter and noggins at local public houses.
